17 May 2017 This one made me cry!

Our Family Slave” written by Alex Tizon. He was a Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist and the author of Big Little Man: In Search of My Asian Self. (https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/06/lolas-story/524490/?utm_source=fbbOur Family Slave Article
Wow! Read it to understand why I cried. I cannot help but wonder how the Lord must cry over the pain and suffering and hardship that we as humans inflict on one another, with consciences so seered to the consequences of our choices.

W.I.T.N.G I can’t help but ask. What is the narrow gateway? No it is not to go around condemning and pointing fingers at the perpetrators. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. THIS IS CRITICAL! James 1:19-20 “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.” Besides, “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone!” (John8:7)

Basically,my human anger, my self-righteous indignation, does not even begin to touch talk less of create a bedrock of deliverance when we look at the corrupt state of our world and ourselves. So let’s not even go there! No! To work the righteousness of God, we need to ask, W.I.T.N.G? And the Word of God is CLEAR on W.I.T.N.G! We have our marching orders!

“I, the Lord, command you to do what is just and right. Protect the person who is being cheated from the one who is cheating him. Do not ill-treat or oppress foreigners, orphans, or widows; and do not kill innocent people in this holy place.”
(Jeremiah 22:3)

Learn to do right. See that justice is done — help those who are oppressed, give orphans their rights, and defend widows. (Isaiah 1:17)

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has chosen me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind; to set free the oppressed and announce that the time has come when the Lord will save his people.” (Luke 4:18-19)

Don’t take advantage of the poor just because you can; don’t take advantage of those who stand helpless in court. The Lord will argue their case for them and threaten the life of anyone who threatens theirs. (Proverbs 22:22-23)

11 May 2017 Letting Your Voice Be Heard In Heaven given by U.S Senate Chaplain, Barry Black

AWESOME MUST LISTEN total #thenarrowgatewaystuff. Check out this Focus on the Family broadcast of a short talk titled Letting Your Voice Be Heard In Heaven given by U.S Senate Chaplain, Barry Black at this year’s American National Day of Prayer. Here we are met squarely with the Biblical expectation of us when it comes to our nations, our communities, our leaders. Its a challenging one, because many of us are sorely disappointed in the leaders that are in place in our lives.

But here is the biblical perspective: His parting words gave me goosebumps! (at 27:08) “And so because I kept meeting that Man (Jesus), my hope does not rest in the various branches of government, executive, legislative or judicial. My hope does not rest in the alliances that we build. My testimony is simply this: My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name! ON CHRIST THE SOLID ROCK I STAND, ALL OTHER GROUND IS SINKING SAND! ALL OTHER GROUND IS SINKING SAND!”
